Community Composters For Healthy Living

Introducing our community composting operation, where we transform organic waste into nutrient-rich compost that can be used to nourish gardens and farms in our local area. By participating in our program, you can help reduce the amount of waste going to landfills while also supporting sustainable agriculture and healthier soils.

What Is Compost?

Compost is a pile of organic waste that over time breaks down or "decomposes" into a nutrient rich soil.

Organic means something that was once alive or came from a living thing.

Food Waste Is Not Garbage!

Throwing away your food scraps and yard waste has many negative effects, where composting solves many of the following naturally.

  • Landfill Pollution
  • Carbon Footprint
  • Climate Change ( Greenhouse Gases )
  • Improves Soil
  • Reduces Need for Pesticides, Fertilizers, Herbicides, Heavy Metals and Many Pollutants
  • Prevents Erosion
  • Fights Against Food Insecurity and Local Environmental Health Ecosystems Impacted
  • Economic Impact
  • Concealed Food Waste Prevents Rodents and Odors
  • Reduce Disposal Fees
  • Lower Plant Bedding Costs
  • Business Can Inventory and Source Reduce Costs
  • Assists in Storm Water Management
  • Promotes Healthier Plant Growth
  • Conserves Water
  • Composting Improves Downstream Water Quality Waste Reduction Upcycles Those Materials into a Productive, Environmentally Beneficial Product

Additional Benefits Include

Reduces Project Maintenance Costs

Compost can also lower long-term maintenance costs for projects. This is because compost promotes healthy plant growth, reducing mortality and subsequent replacement costs. In addition, compost promotes drought resistance which lowers artificial irrigation costs.

Assists in Wetland Reclamation

Compost can assist highway and transportation departments in activities related to the protection, reclamation, or creation of wetlands. Compost installed between roadways and wetlands can filter pollutants caused by automobile traffic. In addition, compost is a great additivie to wetland reclamation or projects since those ecosystems require highly organic materials.

Improves Soil Health

By adding nutrients and soil biota, compost improves the biological, chemical and structural health of soils. THis further contributes to healthy plants and successful projects.

Here's how it works

We provide you with a compost bucket with instructions for what can and cannot be composted. You collect your organic waste and we'll come by on our designated day and pick it up, or you can drop it off at one of our convenient locations. Our team then varefully manages the composting process, ensuring that the materials break down into a high-quality compost that is safe for use in gardens and farms.

But thats not all

By participating in our community composting program, you'll also be part of the growing movement towards more sustainable and environmentally friendly practices. You'll be helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, promote biodiversity, and create a healthier community for everyone, as well as building new enterprises in the green economy.

Our rates start at just $25 for a 5 gallon bucket for residential & commercial customers or $10 for drop-off locations. For larger container and frequencies and other special needs, please don't hesitate to ask about special rates for businesses and organizations. We're committed to making our community composting program accessible to everyone, no matter their needs or budget.

Sign up for our community composting program and start making a positive impact on the planet and your community!
